Common questions

Before you ask

More answers in our articles, form guides, fees, timelines and interview prep.

Are you a law firm?

No, we are a paralegal document-preparation service. We prepare filings at your direction and refer you to counsel when a case needs it.

Do you work in Spanish?

Yes, every service, call and document review is available in English and Spanish.

What does a document preparer actually do?

We prepare, organize and review your filing at your direction: the forms, the evidence checklist, the cover letter and the assembly of the package. We do not choose a legal strategy for you or represent you before USCIS.

Can you tell me which form I should file?

We explain what each form covers, who it is for and what USCIS asks for, so you can decide. If your situation turns on a legal judgment, we say so and refer you to counsel.

Are USCIS filing fees included?

No. Government filing fees are paid to USCIS and are separate from preparation. Every form guide lists the filing fee for that form, and we go over what your filing will cost before you commit to anything.

Can you help after I have already filed, with an RFE?

Yes. A request for evidence is a deadline, not a rejection. We help you read what USCIS is asking for and assemble the response in time.

What happens after I get in touch?

We reply the same business day, in English or Spanish, and go over your situation and what the filing involves, before you commit to anything.

Is the information I send you confidential?

We use what you send only to prepare your filing and to contact you about it, and our privacy page sets out what we collect and how it is stored. Because we are not a law firm, this is not attorney-client privilege: if your situation needs privileged advice, we say so and refer you to counsel.
